Over the next 50 years JB worked at, managed, or co-owned a series of restaurants in southwestern Ohio, including Seven Nations, Highview Terrace, Culps Cafeteria, Jay's Seafood Restaurant, Sycamore Creek Country Club, Surf and Turf, the Daytonian, and Bellwood Country Club. She attended Holy Trinity High School in Hartington, Nebraska.
